NonSteamLaunchers is an incredibly helpful tool that allows you to install a wide range of additional game launchers on your Steam Deck, all in one place. It supports a pretty huge list of launchers, apps and services. What does it support? Have a look below:

As you can see, support is pretty extensive. Some of these, I haven’t even heard of. It can also add various streaming services, along shortcuts to any website you can think of. NonSteamLaunchers will also attempt to add or remove games to your library automatically as you install and uninstall games which in itself is pretty neat.
Well, lets get to it…
Install non-Steam Launchers on Steam Deck with NonSteamLaunchers Guide
Disclaimer: Just like any other third-party method, not every game will work and some may require additional tweaks to work well. This guide will purely get you started with NonSteamLaunchers and additional configuration may be required.
- Swap into Desktop Mode on your Steam Deck
- Head to the NonSteamLaunchers Github and grab the latest version
- I move this to the desktop and remove ‘.download’ from the filename
I’m pretty sure this is optional, as it will still work without doing this. - Run the NonSteamLaunchers.desktop executable file
- You can either install all launchers in the one prefix, or separate each one. There is a checkbox at the top which is made pretty obvious
I lumped them all in together as it seemed simpler - Choose which Launchers and services you would like with the associated tickboxes and select the ‘OK’ button at the bottom
- Your selected launchers and services will now be added to your Steam Library under the ‘Non-Steam’ section.
Your selected launchers and services will now be installed and you can use them as you would on a regular desktop.
Further Notes:
– There is also a Decky Loader plugin for NonSteamLaunchers, should you prefer that method. It has to be manually installed and can also be found on the developer’s GitHub.
– To uninstall any of your launchers, head to Desktop Mode, run NonSteamLaunchers, select ‘Uninstall’ from the options at the bottom and tick the checkbox next to what you would like to remove.
– To remove NonSteamLaunchers entirely, uninstall as above and head to ‘/home/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata’, find the corresponding folder that holds any NonSteamLaunchers data and delete that folder.
You will have to manually dig to find the right folder, they’re uniquely numbered.
– You will need to specify your own controller settings for each launcher. Within the launchers themselves, I would definitely suggest setting something as a mouse. I uh, went with one of the trackpads.
