See my guide for installing Decky Loader

Junk Store is a Decky Loader plugin which allows you to install games from your Epic Games and GOG game libraries without leaving Game Mode. It’s easily my top Decky Loader plugin and while I don’t run many Decky plugins, this one absolutely earns its spot. The developer recently released Junk Store 2.0, a standalone version which adds Amazon and itch.io support. You could go with that instead if you like, though it comes at a cost. I often see people saying that it’s difficult or even impossible to install games from other libraries on the Steam Deck and I’m not having it. I’ve been using Junk Store since release and I was genuinely pumped when the developer added GOG support, even if it came at a cost. At $10 AUD, being able to add and install GOG games with a single click is well worth the money.

Installing non-Steam Games on Steam Deck with Junk Store Guide

Disclaimer: Obviously, you will need Decky Loader installed to install the Junk Store plugin. If you don’t have it installed, I’ve got you covered. Please note, not ALL your games will work with Junk Store. The below guide will get Junk Store installed and Epic Games up and running, there will be some additional steps should you wish to add your GOG library to Junk Store.

  1. Press the ‘‘ button on your Steam Deck and head to Decky Loader
  2. Select the plugin browser(the box icon next to settings)
  3. Search for, or scroll to, Junk Store and install the plugin.
  4. Open Junk Store from the main Decky Loader menu
  5. Select ‘About’, head to Dependencies and click ‘Install Dependencies’
This may take a few minutes
  6. Head back to the main Junk Store menu and select ‘Games’
  7. Under Epic, click the ‘Login’ button and login with your Epic account
  8. Your Epic games list will now populate
  9. To install a game: select it and, uh, click ‘Install’
  10. Once installed, you can either launch your game from Junk Store or from the non-Steam games section of your Steam Library.

After installing, I would suggest running a test with a light game before going all-in on something massive, just to make sure everything works.

Adding the GOG Extension to Junk Store

This section is optional, if you don’t want to pay for GOG support. Alternatively, you could just download the GOG offline installer and install it with Lutris instead.

  1. Pay your $10 AUD to the developer via their Patreon
  2. Swap into Desktop Mode on your Steam Deck
  3. Download the GOG Extension from Junk Store’s Patreon or their Portal
  4. Extract the ZIP file to wherever you like
  5. Double click the file you’ve extracted and select ‘Execute’
  6. Click ‘Yes’ when prompted to install the GOG Extension
  7. Swap back to Game Mode on your Steam Deck
  8. In Junk Store, head back to Dependencies and click ‘Install Dependencies’
  9. The GOG tab should now be visible under ‘Games’
  10. Select the GOG tab and login with your account.

Again, I suggest to install something light first to test everything works.

Further Notes:

What if my Epic Games library isn’t showing any games?
– Clear any search terms out of the search bar
– Ensure you haven’t accidentally toggled on ‘Show Installed’ from the bottom menu which will ONLY show games you have installed.
– Try toggling on ‘Show All’ from the bottom menu
– Give re-installing dependencies a crack

Where are my EA or Origin Games?
The developer doesn’t support these games in the Junk Store plugin. None of them will show up, which makes things easy.

Can I login to Epic with my [insert Third-Party here] Account?
Sure, Junk Store have a tutorial for this on their website.

Why isn’t my game working?
Not all games currently work with Junk Store. The vast majority do, but before installing it may be worth having a look at the Compatibility Guide.
